May 2011 Birthday's

There are several birthday's in May. Zachery has a friend that is exactly 5 months younger than him. So we went to his Cowboy Birthday Party. The one with Zachery with a bat, is when the kids were all lined up to hit a pinata. Charlie and Zachery were trying to say "cheers" with their root beer bottles. It was such a cute party!

As many of you know Charlie turned the big 4 - 0 this year! I was unfortunately in Austin, Texas for a Trade Show. I so wanted to make his birthday special ... he said that the cookie bouquet was a nice surprise!

Around the House in April 2011

April seems to have blown by, literally! The first picture below is from Zach's homeschool fair last month, it was such a cute picture I had to post it!!
Here it is the middle of May and I am not sure I am going to remember all that happened last month. Obviously we had Easter, which I shared with you. We continue to enjoy T-ball. Charlie helped the coaches last game and I think he had a good time. Zachery played first base that particular game and I have to say I haven't laughed so hard. If you can imagine once the ball was hit Zachery jumping onto the base facing the runner laughing as he watches the runner run towards him, totally oblivious to the fact that he needs to catch the ball that is being thrown to him by one of his teammates. Once the runner was on the bag the two boys would talk and laugh ... needless-to-say I do not think that Zachery will make a good first baseman (at this time)! But it sure was fun and cute to watch.

Awana's is coming to an end this year. They had Cubbie Olympics a couple of weeks ago and they received their final awards. The Cubbie Olympics was adorable. They actually marched the kids out with a little fake torch and to the Olympic music. They played several games for us, balancing a bean bag while walking around the circle, baton relay race, and a fun ball throwing game. Then they all received their awards. We have his final meeting tonight, May 15, 2011, so I will take a picture of his Cubbie uniform.

Zayne is doing well. He is moving around very well now. We are trying to figure out if he is actually saying words. We here, "dis" ALOT! But we have heard, not consistently, hot, hat, juice, quack, honk. He actually was very sick about a week ago. We are not sure if he had allergies, but praise the Lord that it wasn't pneumonia or bronchitis. He had to have a couple of breathing treatments and a trip to the hospital for X-ray's. He was on steroids for a week, but appears to be feeling better since he is running around right now kicking a ball, throwing a ball, and carrying around books to read.

So as you can see there is a cape in a couple of pictures below, which I think many of you have heard about. Zachery one day, I think it was a Tuesday, asked "Mommy can I have a cape?". "Sure honey, we will go to the fabric store on Friday so we can make your cape." ... An hour later, the same question. Let's just say it was a long couple of days of Zach asking the same question. We went to the fabric store picked out fabric, red (which is Zachery's favorite color) and superman material. Found a pattern on-line and a cape was completed within an hour. He wore it everywhere for about a day or two. It truly was hilarious!! We were at the park and he had his cape on and everyone was looking at him and smiling. One mom asked, are you a super hero? And Zach said "Yes, but I can't fly I can only do this" ... as he proceeded to jump off some steps. I couldn't help but smile! His friend Will received a cape for his birthday and apparently the two boys had a blast at their weekly trip to the library. They received several looks as the boys would run through the aisles of books with their capes flapping behind them. What a sight!

Easter 2011

A couple of weeks before Easter we went to an Easter Egg Hunt. There were several fields of eggs, I think there were about 60,000 eggs for kids to put in their Easter baskets. So with that said, I totally wasn't thinking that we had to provide the basket! So I dug through the diaper bag and said "well you are just going to have to use the diaper disposable bag, as your basket." I just started laughing! My kids were the only ones with plastic bags for a basket. Oh well. Zayne hates the hat that you see in the pictures, but tolerant of it that day! As Zachery and Daddy were waiting in line to jump in the jump house Zayne was chasing a soccer ball around that a little boy was practicing with ... I think the little kid enjoyed playing keep away as much as Zayne enjoyed chasing the ball!

I was able to convince Zach to wear a nice shirt with a sweater vest and little Zayne wore an outfit that one of my brother's wore when they were little for Easter Sunday. I thought they were adorable, but I am sure it will be one of those photos that when the are both older will say "what were you thinking mom!" ... Actually I am sure I will hear that a lot. We didn't do anything extravagant for Easter, I actually had a three day weekend. We pretty much hung around the house, planted flowers, did some re-organization and RELAXED!!
