Mimicking
It has been over a month since I last updated the website and so much has happened, well at least to us! We have had 4 swimming lessons, today was our fourth lesson and he told us all about how he was going to go swimming with Ms. Lia. He had the best time! He kicked, attempted to blow bubbles (but mainly drank the water), jumped off the side of the pool and climbed out of the pool (all by himself I must add). He had a smile on his face the whole time and did not want to get out, which is good! I think what I love about his swimming lesson is that Zachery is so exhausted that it is easy to put him down for a nap. Let's see I entitled this post "Mimicking", even though he is not repeating every word we say he has started to copy us more. There has been many people that have told us that he will start copying/mimicking us soon and sure enough one morning he started talking more and more. It was almost like a light switch went on! Anyways, our new favorite words are robot and lady bug. Zachery has started to enjoy drawing. A couple of weeks ago while playing with one of his new best friends, Sammy (or as Zachery would say "Mammy"), we started drawing bunnies, trees, moons, stars, etc. and he was having the best time we could draw bunnies for hours (mommy just got really tired of drawing bunnies). But the other night while he was sitting on my lap he was drawing and I asked him what he was drawing and he said a "tree" and sure enough it looked like a tree that we had drawn before. It was very exciting! He still uses sign language for some words, but what is wonderful is that while he is signing he will try and say the word. Other than that he is just growing up way to fast and he is such a sweet little boy! But as I have said before, I am partial since I am his Mama!! He has learned his numbers up to 9 and he likes sounding out the letter "N", "A", "B", and maybe sometimes "T". We have observed that Zachery's primary love language right now is quality time, as long as we spend about 30 minutes with him in the morning and when he wakes up from his nap and when I get home he is good with playing by himself for a while. So it has been a good observation to learn so we can make sure we set aside that time for him and only him. Well I better let everyone look at the pictures, enjoy! Yes, we are already getting summer fever with the filling up of the small little swimming pool and watering the grass....
