Charlie had to head back on Saturday to prepare for his talk on Sunday morning at church, so Zach and I stayed behind and headed back in the morning. Well we finally found the entrance to the river that ran along the camp grounds. We had a blast swimming in the river, but Zach loved to throw rock and after the third time telling him "no" it was time to get out and let me say he hated it!! Anyways, he screamed all the way back to our campsite which was on the opposite end of the camp grounds. As I sat him down on the picnic bench, telling him to sit still while I get our things to take a shower he was saying "okay, okay" in a muffled cry and sucking in air. So then with bag over my shoulder and Zachery in my arms we headed to the bathroom to take our shower. Well once we were there and he realized that we were getting in the shower a new scream came ... a scream of terror. Have we ever mentioned that Zach is terrified of showers?? Anyways, after trying to calm him down and trying to tell him that I would take a shower with him I had to toughen up, I got in the shower with him, washed him as fast as I could, and got out. When we were finally out of the shower and I was wrapping him in a towel and trying to calm him down, I was sure that the police or child protective services would be trolling in at any moment. Then our friends made it to the bathroom to start cleaning up and I was able to jump in the shower. As I was gathering all our belongings, as quickly as possible because Zach was still crying and asking to leave, he was walking along the slick concrete floor and whoosh he slipped and land on his back and hit his head. It was the final straw for him, he was so ready to get out of there!! Anyways, I just hope that I didn't scare him forever, because I loved camping and have missed being able to go ... it helps to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life here in the city.

CAMPING 2009
We finally went camping the weekend after we got back from Iowa and we had a GREAT time!! The first night that we were there, which was Friday night, the boys went out searching for ice and my friend and I stayed back with the kids. We started to explore the camp grounds and there were tons of mud puddles so we let the kids run through the mud puddles and pretty soon they wanted there shoes and clothes off, we both thought sure why not ... well as you can see from the picture below Zachery was very brown and dirty from his mud puddle experience, it was very FUN!!

IOWA
I know it has been forever since I have updated the website ... Sorry about that! But we have several entries for your enjoyment and entertainment. I just hope I can remember some of the funny stories I wanted to tell everyone!
We went back to Charlie's hometown in Iowa for our nieces and nephew's graduations!! I have to say that Zachery is starting to become one of the best travelers ever!! On our way to Kansas City, which is where we have started to fly into and drive the 3.5 hours to Charlie's hometown, we had a 2.5 hour plane delay. But Zachery was a champ he didn't scream or complain all he wanted to do was watch a DVD and maybe flirt with the ladies around us. When we were finally told that the original plane that we were on was needing to go to the hangar for repairs due to some deep scratches (after 2 hours of sitting on the plane) ... we all unboarded, took a train to another terminal and waited to board our second (and final) plane. During our wait there was a convenient play area for kids and Zachery had a blast jumping off the plastic planes and luggage and of course climbing! However, all his jumping made passers-by and some of the moms in the play area a little nervous, which made me giggle because this was nothing compared to what he normally jumps off and climbs on!
Anyways, we finally made it to our destination and had a blast visiting with family, playing ball in the front yard, and watching Zachery interact with all his cousins, aunts, uncles, and of course grandma and grandpa. At one of our nieces graduation party we observed Zachery make his rounds and finally when we were ready to get going we observed one of his aunts giving him a piece of cake (I should say another piece of cake) and this piece wasn't small it was huge. None-the-less we let him eat it and he was up until I either 10 or 10:30pm, but it was fun and he had a blast rough-housing with his uncle and cousins.
He learned two new phrases during this trip:
"Fall down" and "Ohh shoot" .... Zachery thought it was hilarious that his cousin would run and fall down.

What kind of expression is that??

Cousin tickling Zach ... He loved it!

Cousin playing ball with Zach ... Giggling and laughing the whole time ...

Look at that face :)
