Silly Pictures

So Zach has been enjoying wearing our shoes, which has been precious! He has even worn my shoes outside and proceeded to walk to the park with them on. With the hot weather here over the past month or so, we have been frequenting the pool often! We found our goggles and enjoy wearing wearing them until they get foggy or water gets in them from falling in the pool. Yes, Zachery loves to fall forward and backwards into the pool, I just I am able to get a video of this before the season is over! It is absolutely hilarious!! We attempted to go watch the movie UP with Zach, I think on Father's Day. He did really well, until the scary dog part and we had to leave with only 30 minutes left in the movie, but that is OK. I love that he is so sensitive to all that!!

Cute story: So today I was picking Zach up from church nursery, I asked him for a kiss, so he put a hand on each cheek and gave me a kiss ... how sweet was that?? Anyways, we didn't do much for the Fourth of July. With Daddy out of the country it is hard to keep track of the little man and visit with friends!

Last weekend we went to a Ranger's baseball game and also saw the new Cowboys stadium, impressive huh?? Zach had a GREAT time the first 10 minutes, yelling "Go" and clapping when everyone else would clap ... and then we weren't interested any longer :) Oh the joys of having a 2 year old. Oh! Have I spoken about potty training?? We have no interest in it!! He pee's his pants and comes to me and says "I'm wet, Mommy, wet". Doesn't really care that he wet, just wanted me to know that he has gone to the bathroom in his pants :) I am really not looking forward to this!! Any suggestions would be GREAT!!!!

California June 2009

The evening before and the morning of, we were to board a plan to LA, a storm decided to land here in Dallas. Hundreds of flights were cancelled, including ours. Luckily I was able to speak with a very nice lady in Phoenix, AZ and she got us on a flight out to Fresno, CA, which is about the same distance to Bakersfield as it is from LA. So we hopped on a flight to Fresno, which was 2 hours delayed due to having to wait on flight attendants, anyways, we landed in Fresno around 11pm. Drove the 2 1/2 hours to Bakersfield, checked in and fell asleep. Cal's graduation started at 7am! So with about 4 hours sleep I was off to watch my youngest brother graduate! Charlie & Zachery were able to stay back and sleep, which I was so happy about! Anyways, it was so wonderful to watch Cal walk across the stage, knowing all that he has been through and how hard he has worked to get to this point! Now we will be praying for him to find a good job!! He is currently interning with Wienerschnitzel...

So Zachery as everyone knows loves to climb things, he climbed a divider that was in our hotel room and proceeded to straddle like a horse and then soon after he wanted to start jumping from it ... this is when we put a stopped to the climbing and jumping off the divide. "Aah Mom & Dad your no fun!!", which I am sure is what he was saying in his head. Prior to departing to Lake Arrowhead for the week, we went to one of the Nature Preservation's there in Bakersfield and saw tons of peacocks, they were gorgeous and let us go right up to them, it was wild!!

So after Cal's graduation we head to Lake Arrowhead, which is east of LA. My parents were back from cruising in the Gulf of Mexico to watch Cal graduate and to have a mini-family reunion. Anyways, the weather was GREAT! The house was spacious and perfect. We walked everyday, Zach went swimming in the freezing lake water, and thoroughly enjoyed rough-housing with his cousins!! We ventured out to the beach one day too. Charlie went body surfing and had a GREAT time until he was tossed around a bit by a wave, he will have to tell you the story! Zach was sort-of frightened by the ocean (and it was pretty cold and loud!). We didn't have any hiccups on the journey back to Dallas, which was a blessing!
