NOVEMBER 2015

Lego Mania! Oh, yes it was a day of FUN! We were able to follow directions and building robotic Lego's and watch Lego robot fights.  We saw all kinds of amazing creations all made out of Lego's! We had the most fun with the building challenge.  They issued us a box of random Lego's and on their cue we built whatever they tell us, like a robot or airplane, out of the parts that were in the box of Lego's provided to us.  I think we were there for at least 40 minutes.

Do you remember making a Thanksgiving stew or having a Thanksgiving feast in kindergarten?  Well, they still do it! I actually went in and attempted to make stuffing from scratch ... "what? you don't just add water to make stuffing??"  Apparently not ... anyways, the kids and I had fun attempting to make homemade stuffing, but it truly didn't turn out well! I don't even think the birds would have eaten it.  Needless to say they didn't need it to feed all these adorable kindergartners!

Zayne has been enjoying going to all his friend's birthday parties.  The party that he went to for his friend Sam, the picture below, was at Ninja Warriors and since the birthday party we have frequently gone to that gym!  We have to release some energy, it is filled with obstacle courses and of course dodge ball!  It is fun and the kids are both so sweaty by the time they are done!

We had another swim meet, but this one was their first two day swim meet! They both did great and improved a lot! I wasn't able to get to many pictures since I had to fulfill my volunteer requirements and take a timer position, but I did get these of Zayne cheering on his friend.  I think it is funny that he was wearing gloves and long pants but no shirt.  This is also the meet that he came home completely covered with Sharpie writings.  I think they got bored!   Here are their times:

Thanksgiving was spent this year visiting Jay's parents in Springfield, VA, which is close to Washington D.C.  We spent a day in Washington D.C. walking around the different monuments like Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln.  Zayne found a caterpillar on one of the paths so we had to stop and admire it for awhile.  I think we were also getting tired and needing a break!

We also spent 5 to 6 hours at George Washington's home, Mt. Vernon.  We had so much fun walking around his ground so much history! We also met the famous Geico "Hump day" camel ...  The day actually went really fast and we learned so much.

Thanks to advertisements, Zayne had to pose with the mask and light saber in celebration of the new Star Wars movie!!
