September 2012

As I was starting to put in order the pictures that need to uploaded and the adventures that need to be documented, I first thought "I should probably make sure there are not any draft posts prior to starting to go through pictures" and I am sure glad I did!! Everyone would have missed our camping adventure in September 2012. As you can see from the photographs below Zachery built a jail cell, I think it is a replica of the jail cell he saw when we were in Washington State visiting Great Nana. I thought he did a GREAT job! We switched soccer teams this year to the Strikers, which is the team that is coach by our Baseball coach. Zachery knows the entire team because he plays baseball with them, which is so much more fun! They did really well this season. No I don't think we actually record the scores yet, but I think over all they dominated the league and the season!! Zachery scored several goals this season, which was very exciting and he definitely showed more of an interest this year in practicing. So it was fun to go outside and practice with him (and Zayne). Zayne is getting very anxious to start playing a sport. I am hoping that I can get him into something this summer ... he is just READY TO GO!! Our camping adventure was way to short! In the later part of September we headed up to Turner Falls, Oklahoma about an hour and half north of Dallas, immediately after our Saturday morning soccer game. When we got there we set up camp in record time and headed down to one of the natural limestone lined swimming holes. Yes, if you could imagine it was freezing! We also took a hike to one of the castles and looked around that. Zachery found a little friend his age and they rode bikes like crazy!! The boys found tons of rocks to throw into the creek and other little creatures that I would be asked to hold (and really not want to!!). After a good night sleep we explored the caves, went hiking, and swimming again. When we had to take down our tent and say goodbye to our new friend, we were all tears (well at least Zachery was). We ate tons of junk food during the trip. So that evening when we got home the boys took a long bath while I unloaded the truck and was putting things away. They both weren't that hungry. So they just went to bed early. Well not much time after they went to bed, Zachery started throwing up in his sleep. So he would sit up and flop over while vomiting. Trying to wake him up was so hard! But I finally got him in the bathtub and sheets stripped, bean bag covers off and rug out of the room (so the smell was at least manageable). He slept in my bed while I cleaned and try to get his bed ready for him to go back to bed. After I got Zach to back to bed, Zayne started throwing up. His was at least more contained. So needless to say it was a long night :) But it was a lot of fun!!
